Munford High School Clarinetist to Open 2018 State Music Conference

In addition to performing in the Tennessee Music Education Association All State ensembles, Munford High School band member, Carlton Perfect’s musical talents will be showcased in the opening concert representing the finest student-soloists in Tennessee.

Perfect is a senior member of the Munford High School Band program and has been named the past three years as an “All State Musician.”  In this 2018 opening Honors Recital Concert, Carlton will be representing West Tennessee as he performs an un-accompanied solo on clarinet.  This is a highly-competitive honor representing the very best instrumental musicians in the state.  In West Tennessee alone 15 soloist auditioned for the honor of being chosen to perform on this heralded concert. 

“He is an amazing performer and we at Munford Bands are blessed to have had him as a part of our Band program,” stated Barry Trobaugh, the Director of Bands at Munford High School.

“Mr. Fite, Mr. Young and myself are honored that Carlton will represent our school in this event, but we are not surprised.  Carlton and his family have exhausted every opportunity for his musical advancement.  Carlton is an avid learner and along with his clarinet tutor; Mr. London Shavers; Carlton now stands as one of the most accomplished clarinetist in the country.  We are so proud of him,” added Trobaugh.

Carlton will perform at the Gaylord Convention Center on Wednesday, evening, April 11 at 8pm.  This is a free concert provided by the Tennessee Bandmasters Association.
